Spicewood Communities Shares the Top Things Do on Georgetown Square During the Fall

Fall house in Gardens at Verde Vista close to Goergetown Square

Fall is the perfect time to take a breath and revel in the beauty of Hill Country living, especially right here in Georgetown, TX. These picture perfect days are a great time to explore the streets of the historic downtown Georgetown Square.

Local Central Texas builder and developer of the boutique Gardens at Verde Vista community, Spicewood Communities, has the inside scoop to help you discover the best of the Georgetown Square in the fall.

Day Activities

What better way to greet the crisp Autumn air than with your favorite hot beverage? Stop in one of the local coffee shopsCianfrani and Red Poppy are great options – to grab a cup of joe, and maybe a bite to eat, and then take a leisurely stroll around the square.

If you happen to be downtown during the second Saturday of every month (March – November), you’ll be in for a treat. It’s Market Days on the Square, filled with local area artisans and vendors selling arts and crafts, jewelry, unique clothing, woodcrafts, ironworks, festive foods, antiques and collectibles. All of the shops on the square are open, and a number of food vendors set up throughout the square, as well. Shop or browse to your heart’s content while also enjoying live music.

Evening Activities

If you’re more of night owl than an early bird, you’ll still find plenty to explore on the square including incredible restaurants, quaint boutiques with unique items, local artisan galleries and even the Georgetown and Grapecreek wineries. Spend a cool fall evening during one of the First Friday on the Square events, when shops and galleries stay open until 8 p.m. or later, and enjoy a stroll around the beautifully lit Historic Georgetown Square. With weather this nice you may even want to dine al fresco at one of the lovely restaurants including Eats on 8th or The Hollow.

There is even a special fall evening set aside just for the women of Georgetown and visitors to enjoy, Ladies Night Out. This fun annual event takes place on November 19th and features a festive night of exclusive holiday shopping, a strolling fashion show, in-store specials, holiday food and drink samplings, photo booths and more all around the Historic Square. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season with dear friends.

The fall season is also about giving thanks, and the ideal time of year for a 5 mile run/walk. On Thanksgiving Day, bring your family and friends to the Georgetown Turkey Trot for a run/walk along the roads and trails in Georgetown that will start and finish in the beautiful downtown Georgetown Square. Proceeds from this fun event will be shared between the Williamson County Meals on Wheels and Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation (Park Pals).

Spicewood Communities invites you to explore the historic Georgetown Square and all of the wonderful fall events taking place just a short drive from the exclusive new courtyard garden home and villa community, Gardens at Verde Vista. And with the lock-and-leave lifestyle this community affords, you’ll have even more time and freedom to enjoy the simple pleasures in life – like taking a carefree stroll through the square!
